Snow Caving by Bear Gulch

In February 2010 we had a 100th Anniversary Scout Month Court of Honor,  along with the new officers and advancements, Moira was presented her Wood Badge beads and other bling.

The outing this month was a trip to Bear Gulch and short, 1 mile, ski, hike or snow shoe trek to our campsite.  There we made some snow trenches, caves and one igloo.  In addition to the 2 miles hiking, we earned -7C, it wasn’t very cold that night.  There was a full moon and the trip was very pretty.

Present were 16 people - Scouts:  Austin J, Nick A, Michael S, Philip, Seth, Aaron, Matt, Justin, Doug, Wes and Brendon.  Adults were Robin, Dean, Bob, Tim and Cheryl.  Elliott skied up for the day.  The drive was about 130 miles round trip.
